Finding out what’s wrong with us, i.e. proper diagnosis 1

We are absolutely flabbergasted by this extract from this article.

astonishingly widespread

regularly misdiagnosed

more than 1 in 10 women will develop it

it’s increasing

can take women years to get a diagnosis; some never get one at all

often told by their doctors – wrongly

“I basically had to fight doctors to get diagnosed.”

In other words, if women have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, the chances of seeing a doctor who can tell them exactly what they’re suffering from are quite remote!

But it’s even worse than that. No only women who have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome are going to struggle to get proper diagnosis, whatever we have wrong with us we’re going to struggle to get accurate information on it. It’s much more likely that any doctor or doctors we see, while appearing to know what they’re talking about, will actually be telling us rubbish – even, perhaps, what makes them the most money.
