The Australian Health Practioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) – dealing with 1

Following a complaint to the NSW Health Care Complaints Commission claiming that a NSW Cardiologist, Dr Timothy Tan hadn’t responded to a number of important emails sent to him using the email address for him on the University of Sydney School of Medicine’s website, in the early stages of this complaint being dealt with two issues have been raised.

Firstly, that these email addresses don’t work, they’re useless – which we’re following up on.

Secondly, by the HCCC, that the complainant should have been using the “official” email address which the HCCC has for Dr Tan – nothing about what this “official” email address might be, or where you or I could get it from, although perhaps it was suggested it could be got from AHPRA.

So this has been emailed to AHPRA:-

An automated response came back immediately:-

Ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha ha! From our experiences with AHPRA we’ll be astonished if we get a response to our enquiry, EVER!!! – let alone in anything like two days.

We’ll let you know if this turns out to be wrong.

A 25 Nov 2018 update: Well, we were wrong – we got a response the next day, and further responses the same day!!!! For details, go to this post.
