The NSW Health Care Complaints Commission – dealing with 3

In this previous post, we mentioned that, as a subscriber to the Health Care Complaints Commission’s mailing list, we had received 20 emails in one day, (7 Jun 2019,) each claiming that, in relation to a particular NSW health care professional, “A new media release has been published on the Health Care Complaints Commission website.”

We have no doubt that this was/is an exercise in making beaurocrats and politicians, perhaps even the Minister for Health, think, “Wow! Our Health Care Complaints Commission is really on the job isn’t it!”

BUT, on closer examination, we can’t find anything to indicate that each of these claims is other than a LIE!

If searches are done on the HCCC website.

In 2 cases, it’s specifically mentioned that the entry on the practitioner concerned was “Last Modified” in 2013.

In 15 cases, it’s specifically mentioned that the entry on the practitioner concerned was “Last Modified” in 2014.

In 1 case, it’s specifically mentioned that the entry on the practitioner concerned was “Last Modified” in 2016.

In 2 cases, it’s specifically mentioned that the entry on the practitioner concerned was “Last Modified” in 2018.

On the face of it, these emails are just more HCCC rubbish!

But perhaps we’ve got this all wrong? This was sent in an email to Ms Sue Dawson, the NSW Health Care Complaints Commissioner, on 10 Jun. 2019, 2 days ago. Perhaps she’ll set us right.

We’ll let you know if we get a response.

A 12 Jun. 2019 update: To be fair, on this occasion at least, we got this prompt response to the above email sent to Ms Sue Dawson.
