The NSW Liberal Government – March, 2019… – dealing with 2

It’s easy to locate people who are ACCOUNTABLE for what they do and say, these days – just send them an email, more or less about anything. Those who are accountable provide helpful responses, and with those who are not prepared to be accountable for what they do and say, you are lucky to get even an acknowledgement of your email, let alone a response.

In our experience, you’re lucky to find anyone who’s accountable in all the NSW government organisations, and, in fact, in the whole NSW Liberal Government.

As we’ve previously written, it has been widely reported in the media, that a 1 year old child, who was in a car that was involved in an accident, was taken to the Wyong government hospital, but then was discharged with a broken neck!

What would be the chances that the doctor or doctors who made the decision to discharge the child without checking whether she had a broken neck or not, are, in any sense, accountable, accountable enough to be required to, at least, tell their side of the story on these claims, above all, to the child’s parents? Ha ha ha! Ha ha ha! Ha ha ha!

We have written to about 4 of the government’s departments trying to get an ordinary email address for the manager of the hospital concerned, and none of the people in them are accountable either?

One of the things that fascinates us is that, even if we got a means of contacting the manager of the hospital, we’ve never got any indication that the doctor or doctors concerned are accountable to him or her either – never any indication that, in situations like this, that the manager of the hospital would ever do anything as simple a sending an email to the doctor or doctors concerned, asking anything like, “Can you please let me know what happened here?” (What, if anything, was done if a reply to this question was provided, would be the next question.)

And, of course, we believe that this government’s Minister for Health, Brad Hazzard, should also be sending the same email to the doctor or doctors concerned, – “Can you please let me know what happened here?”

If one wanted to be completely cynical, one could speculate on whether one of the things that attracts doctors to working in government hospitals is that they know that, if they do, they will never be held accountable for anything they do or say, by anybody!!!???

Mind you, there’s no indication that if Labor was ever in power, that anything would be any different. We emailed Walt Secord, when he was their Shadow Minister for Health, at least a dozen times, about various issues, and he didn’t acknowledge even one of them. And now they have a new Shadow Minister for Health, Ryan Park, (keira@parliament.nsw.gov.au,) we’ve sent him one email so far, and that  wasn’t acknowledged either.
